About Baird Center
The Baird Center is Wisconsin’s premier convention facility located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Originally opened in 1998, the center underwent a transformative $456 million expansion completed in 2024 that more than doubled its footprint to 1.3 million square feet. The facility now offers 300,000 square feet of contiguous, pillar-free exhibit space, 52 state-of-the-art meeting rooms, and the stunning 32,000-square-foot rooftop Baird Ballroom with the adjacent Baird Sky View Terrace offering panoramic city views. The center achieved LEED Gold certification, making it one of only 15 convention centers nationwide with this distinction. The venue features sustainable innovations, including a solar roof, a 320,000-gallon stormwater detention system, bird-friendly glass, and an ORCA food digester. The center hosted the 2020 Democratic National Convention and the 2024 Republican National Convention.
